How to inactivate multiple users in Connections

CAT Features

Problem Description

The Tivoli Directory Integrator could not synchronize the Profiles database with the LDAP properly. There are users that don’t exist in the LDAP anymore, but which are still marked ‘active’ in Connections even after a full TDI synchronization. Those users need to be marked inactive.

Solution with Websphere Commandline Interface

Search the HCL Connections documentation for the steps to solve your problem.

  1. Start the wsadmin commandline interface as administrator. ATTENTION: All commands for the commandline interface are case sensitive!
  2. Activate the relevant Jython script.
  3. Perform the relevant Jython commands. Every user needs to be inactivated individually.

Solution with Connections Administration Toolkit (CAT)

Navigate to User Management – By User. There, use the filter to search for the users you want to inactivate. Use ‘*’ as wildcard.

Select the relevant users, and click “Inactivate User”. A confirmation popup summarizes the changes and allows you to enter a comment. All changes, comments, and who made them, are logged by the CAT application.
